\nOverview<\/span>
\nSamburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya\u2019s vast Northern
\nFrontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape; the Owasso Nyiro River runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu Game Reserve and is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Samburu safari may offer sighting of buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and other plains game. Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the beisa oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Grevy\u2019s zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.<\/p>\n

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pick up from your hotel or airport and depart to Samburu National Reserve located in the Northern Kenya arriving in time for lunch.<\/p>\n

After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game viewing in the reserve<\/p>\n

Samburu is famous for its truly wild semi-arid landscape, and the large concentration of wild animals and birdlife. Together with the adjoining Shaba and Buffalo Springs national reserves, Samburu is popular for hosting the rare Northern-Kenya animal species (Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy\u2019s zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich) which are not found in the other popular parks and reserves in Kenya. It is also home to all the African big cats (lion, cheetah and leopard), alongside other big game including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, impala, waterbuck and many others. Samburu is also a renowned bird watching haven, with hundreds of bird species resident here. These include kingfisher, bee-eaters, tawny eagle, guineafowl, yellow throated spur-fowl, lilac-breasted roller, red-billed horn bill, secretary bird, Verreaux\u2019s eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures. The unique culture of The Samburu tribe who live in the region is the icing to cake for the amazing Samburu National Reserve.<\/p>\n

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve<\/strong><\/p>\n

Early morning game drive in the reserve. Later, return to the camp for breakfast. Rest of the mid-morning at relaxation. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.<\/p>\n

Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Early morning game viewing in the reserve. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast and thereafter drive back to Nairobi with drop off at your hotel or airport (lunch on own expenses on this day)<\/p>\n
