DAY TOUR TO NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK, SHELDRICK ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE AND GIRAFFE CENTRE<\/span><\/p>\n

Overview:<\/span><\/p>\n

Spend the day with us visiting the Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and the Nairobi National Park. Get into close contact with the Giraffes, feed them and give them a kiss. Learn more about the endangered species and their adaptive behaviors See the baby elephants and even touch them. Get to hear how they were rescued and the names they have been given. You will later visit the Nairobi National Park which is the only park in a capital city.<\/p>\n

The tour is based on a customized tour vehicle with a pop up roof for easier game viewing and photography for a mini safari experience.<\/p>\n

ITINERARY:<\/span><\/p>\n

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pick up from your hotel at 6: 00AM and drive to Nairobi National Park, only eight
\nmiles from the city center. Wildlife roams this magnificent Park, which provides
\nan excellent opportunity for photography. Nairobi National Park is a unique
\necosystem by being the only protected area in the world close to a capital city. The
\npark is located only 7 km from Nairobi city centre. The savannah ecosystem
\ncomprise of different vegetation types. Open grass plains with scattered acacia
\nbush are predominant.<\/p>\n

The western side has a highland dry forest and a permanent river with a riverine
\nforest.\u00a0 To the south are the Athi-Kapiti Plains and Kitengela migration corridor
\nwhich are important wildlife dispersal areas during the rainy season. Man-made
\ndams within the park have added a further habitat, favorable to certain species of
\nbirds and other aquatic biome.<\/p>\n

Major wildlife attractions are the Black Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Hyena,
\nBuffaloes, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Elands and diverse birdlife with over 400
\nspecies recorded.\u00a0 Other attractions include the Ivory burning site Monument,
\nNairobi Safari Walk, the Orphanage and the walking trails at hippo pools.\u00a0If time

\nORPHANAGE IN TIME FOR FEEDING THE ELEPHANTS (FEEDING<\/strong>
\nSTARTS AT 1100 HRS FOR 01 HOUR)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get ready to come close to elephant calves! As part of the David Sheldrick
\nConservation Foundation, Daphne Sheldrick rehabilitates baby elephants and other
\nwildlife here at her home just outside of Nairobi National Park. These babies have
\nlost their mothers to poaching, death, injuries, on getting lost in the wild or other
\ntragedies. Daphne and her dedicated staff raise them to be released back into the
\nwild when they are ready. It\u2019s worth visiting to see humanitarian care of the wildlife and the heart it takes to care. There is a small entrance fee which can also be paid through purchasing a souvenir or donating to the conservation.<\/p>\n

DRIVE TO GIRAFFE CENTRE AND EXPERIENCE FEEDING<\/strong>
\nGIRAFFES.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the Giraffe Centre\u2019s founders Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville rescued a baby
\ngiraffe named Daisy from a heavily-poached area of western Kenya in 1974, their
\nhome has become a household name among wildlife lovers world-wide\u00a0and Daisy
\na star in her own right.<\/p>\n

The Giraffe Centre is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to educate
\nschool children and the youth of Kenya on conservation. It\u2019s also a fun place for
\nvisitors to learn about conservation, giraffes and actually get to feed the giraffes!<\/p>\n
